Dr. Steven M. Carlson and the team at Carlson Chiropractic Center are pleased to announce that they are now offering free Wellness Workshops to their patients and the greater Joplin community. Exploring food sensitivities as well as natural and holistic ways to better health, Dr. Mallory Province is leading the classes and providing attendees with information on ways that dietary changes, lifestyle changes, chiropractic care, and supplementation can make a difference in their overall health.
Dr. Province is currently finishing her Diplomate in Diagnosis and Internal Disorders through the American Board of Chiropractic Internists. That designation allows her to diagnose and treat internal disorders naturally. She often uses food sensitivity testing to help her patients recover their health. Unlike allergies, food sensitivities are a digestive system response that occurs when something in a food irritates a person’s digestive system or when a person is unable to properly digest or break down the food. Intolerance to lactose, which is found in milk and other dairy products, is the most common and affects nearly 70% of Americans to some degree, and 30% of Americans have a non-celiac gluten sensitivity. Problems can also arise from numerous foods including corn, soy, eggs, and even seafood and mustard.
“I like doing the workshops because I want to not only get the word out about the new services that we are offering, I want to educate people about their health,” Dr. Province said. “I want people to have the information they need to take their healthcare into their own hands and make better lifestyle choices that will improve their quality of life.”
Dr. Carlson is pleased to offer the classes, and provide patients with information and education. He also sees it as a way to introduce people to Carlson Chiropractic Center, and help them understand the difference that chiropractic can make in their lives. “This really expands the ways that we can serve our existing patients, as well as introduce ourselves to new people. Dr. Province is really making a difference here, and as a result, helping our patients live healthier lives.”
